Early 20th Century Folk Art English Whirligig/Weathervane Figure A quirky and charming example of an early 20th Century English folk art whirligig / Weathervane Figure. Stood on a recently added pine base, this whirligig would have been part of a larger weathervane figure. Scratch built from found objects, including a metal sheet advertising section from propeller, carved wooden sections and great little framer figure with a bottle top for a hat and metal pin for a pipe. This item still moves freely as originally intended, now more of a folk-art decorative object. Size in inches approx.: H 18” x W 18” x D 10” Origin: United Kingdom Date: Early 20th Century Material: Metal / Wood Weight: 5KG Condition Report 1. Missing paint and detail. 2. Rust on metal areas. 3. Base has recently been added. This item is completely solid in structure and form. Obvious age is shown in loss of paint, chips, scratches and fading of surface in places. Rust is present as show in the photos provided especially across exposed paint less areas. Its exceedingly difficult to photograph all the areas of these pieces, therefore we strongly suggest reviewing all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections are unclear to avoid disappointment upon purchase.
