12 Light Mid Century Architectural Scale Chandelier Fixture C 1950/1970s

About the Item

Impressive architectural scale 12 light chandelier originally situated in the SUNY Albany Campus, which was designed by Edward Durell Stone in the early 1960's. The fixture features a brass toned anodized aluminum skeletal like frame, with contrasting black vertical tubes that extend to the rectangular anodized aluminum ceiling canopy. The light has a total of 12 sockets, 6 per side, making this chandelier capable of illuminating a large room. We believe there may have been additional elements included with the chandelier at one time, however this is the way it came to us, and the way we are offering it. Clean, working, ready to install condition, having high end porcelain sockets, which accepts standard size screw in bulbs. The metal finish shows cosmetic s=wear, normal and consistent with age, please see images. SUNY Albany is considered to be a masterpiece of Modern architecture, and this fixture illustrates the sophistication and attention to detail that was, and is, evident within that structure. Ceiling Plate 56 W x 8 D Fixture at bottom 54.5W x 19.5 D x 24 H inches.
