1950s Multi-Color Fused Glass Pendant in the Style of Higgins
About the Item
REDUCED FROM $1,200....With a classic Tiffany shape, this multicolored fused glass chandelier features a crown shaped top, sloping sides and horizontal band in bubbly fused glass with lead supports. Glass panels and jewel like circles throughout. Fused glass after the stylings of Michael and Frances Higgins who brought back the ancient art. Because it is so labor-intensive, fusing had, by the mid-20th century, been all but abandoned in favor of glass blowing. Essentially, fusing is the creation of a “glass sandwich”.
The pendant supported with black chain rising 36 inches, a total drop of 47 inches including the fixture.
Measurements: Fixture 11 inches high x 15 inches diameter. Chain 36 inches. 1 foot extra wire above.
Totally rewired and with a new UL Socket, 100 watts max. Medium base bulb.
