About the Item

The Spelling Manor living-room chandelier. A very Fine and Palatial French 19th century Louis XV style gilt bronze and Crystal Thirty-Three Light Twelve candelabra Chandelier attributed to Baccarat. The large finely chased gilt bronze frame surmounted with cut-glass prisms, pendants and obeliscs with molded glass plaques and color-crystals, circa: Paris, 1880. Measures: Height: 64 inches (162.6 cm). Width: 41 1/2 inches (105.4 cm). About The Spelling Manor. The luxurious 57,000 square foot sprawling estate in the exclusive Holmby Hills neighborhood is the largest private residence in Los Angeles, even larger than the White House, and was catalogued as the most expensive home in the United States. The French Château style residence which sits on 4.7 acres was built in 1990 by the late legendary TV producer Aaron Spelling for his wife Candy. In 2011 The Spelling Manor was sold by Mrs. Spelling to Ms. Petra Ecclestone, the daughter of Formula One billionaire Bernie Ecclestone, for a reported $85 million dollars.
