Large Vintage Gothic or Art Deco Black Wrought Iron & White Milk Glass Lights

About the Item

Wonderful large vintage gothic or Art Deco black painted wrought iron & white milk glass light fixtures. 3 total selling separately. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. The diffuser has been freshly painted but the rest of the fixture retains its original finish which has a wonderful, aged patina that includes chips and rust, but we think it just adds to their beauty. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Early 20th Century. Disclosure: Due to the weight of 102 pounds of the fixture, care needs to be taken upon hanging. Length of chain is exceptionally long at 9 feet plus 3 feet in upper shaft detail. It would be best to cut to length pre-shipping if possible. Original fixture had no canopy, it most likely hung from hook in ceiling. Canopy can be fashioned if requested. Also, the single center bulb has a mogul socket, and we are supplying a medium based adapter in that socket. “Instead of fighting the darkness, you bring in the light!” -Eckhart Tolle. And do we have a SENSATIONAL light fixture(s) to fight off the darkness!! Actually… we have more than one, we have four of these fixtures in this size. We will sell you one, two, or ALL THREE upon your request at checkout. Their original home was a beautiful church in Topeka, Kansas and now they are ready to grace your home with their fabulous ambience!! And talk about ambience versatility!!! Each fixture has 9 bulbs total, so you can wire it up to 3 circuits! In doing that, you open so many lighting possibilities! Three circuits give you the option to turn on all the bulbs, or just the upper 4 bulbs, just the lower 4 bulbs, OR just the 1 middle bulb… But if you prefer, just one circuit turns them all on. They are a bit Gothic, a bit Art Deco, a bit Arts & Crafts, and a whole bunch of AWESOME in style!! They hang from a chain and are comprised of cylindrical octagon shaped black painted wrought iron frames with a light diffuser at the base and eight narrow rectangular white milk glass panels per fixture. Just STUNNING!! These phenomenal light fixtures will be striking no matter where they are used. Whether singly in a stairwell or high entry, paired in a dining room over a long, gorgeous table, or installed above an interesting over-scaled kitchen island! It would also be beautiful in a bedroom or living room. Don’t wait around in the dark…You must make one, two, or all 3 of these light fixtures yours! And these white milk glass & aluminum monumental cylinder pendant lights by Visa are nothing short of that… Totally EXTRAORDINARY!!! And let me tell you… SIZE MATTERS FOLKS!!! And the glass body ALONE on one is 30 inches tall… 35.25 inches rim to rim… 43 inches to the top of the cone and it’s 14 inches in diameter!! HOLY MOLY!!! They are LARGE and in CHARGE!!! We have 4 of these fabulous, hardwired pendant lights that we are selling separately. They are comprised of an incredible milk glass cylinder shade, a marvelous spun aluminum base, top rim (or flange), and a wonderful cone shaped finial. Inside the cylinder is a metal dowl rod with a lamp holder featuring 6 sockets with bulbs… 3 facing up and 3 facing down. And if you follow that rod down even lower, there is yet another single down facing light. So, this means you have TWO lighting options… You can have ALL the lights on OR you can switch off the down facing light. Isn’t it NICE to have options?? And all this MAGNIFICENCE hangs from a fabulous spun aluminum canopy and handsome metal hanging chain. Fun Fact!!! Visa Lighting has a cool little video on U-Tube discussing their products and history and these EXACT light fixtures make a quick appearance in the video photographed with a red background behind the lights, you should check it out!! They’re kind of FAMOUS!! We can just see a series of three or all four hanging over your dining table, kitchen island, or indoor bar. And though they are Art Deco Revival in style, they will also blend in beautifully with your Hollywood Regency, Mid-Century Modern, Modern, and other décor styles. A single light would be stunning in a tall, narrow entryway, stairwell, or hallway or a sequence of three or four in your Great room hanging from the tall, vaulted ceilings. They would also be beautiful in a bedroom, in your study, or in the living room. Endless incredible possibilities. Visa lighting has a long and rich history beginning back in 1919 as the Mo Bridges Lighting Company. About ten years later there was a company split, and they went from Mo Bridges to Mo Brothers Manufacturing. Well known for their ornate, hand-crafted light fixtures and chandeliers. In 1943 Bob Mitchell, an employee of Mo Brothers, left to form Product Engineering & Marketing and his own line of church...
