5-Light Crystal Chandelier Attributed to F & C Osler, Circa:1850

About the Item

This beautiful 5-light chandelier bears all the typical features of an Osler fixture: the exquisite cascade of hand-cut prisms, the ring of crystal spear points around the middle, the double-tier crown, and the graceful arms. The chandelier was originally a gasolier. It was probably converted to electricity in the 1920's or 1930's as the use of gas lighting devises had died out by then. In their heyday, F & C Osler gasoliers were to be found in royal palaces, Gilded Age mansions, and anywhere else the rich and famous of the Victorian world needed stunning lighting. Ceiling cap, hanging hardware, and 1 foot of chain included.
