About the Item

This exceptional and stunning chandelier was originally fitted for gas in a very fashionable home of the mid-Victorian era. The extraordinary design was inspired by the decorative motifs of ancient Babylon. In the early 20th Century the fixture was converted to electricity. The crystal is primarily Albert spearpoint Bohemian prisms named after Queen Victoria's husband. The fixture's striking design makes it a stunning addition to either traditional or contemporary environments. Ceiling cap, hanging hardware, and 1 foot of chain included.

Additions or alterations made to the original: Originally a gas fixture, it was first wired in the early 20th Century and newly rewired in our workshop. Rewired: Very minor scratches, chips, and dings. Rewired and repinned in our restoration shop. A professional electrician has rewired this piece to be in working order. Wear consistent with age and use.
