About the Item
A rare pendant lamp by Aldrefo Barbini, Italy circa 1950. Cased genie glass with pink inside, and controlled bubbles in the outer glass with gold circles and flecks embedded in the white. Measures 23" including the adjustable drop, the glass is 16" by itself with a diameter of 8.5". In excellent condition with wear to the ceiling mount fixture and chain. Illumination is on the "hot pink" side of things as the pink glass on the interior glows through the whiter outer cased glass. Hand blown, and hard to come by. Ideal for kitchen dining, lounge or bedroom.

Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), a glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, was one of Murano's leading figures of the 20th century. His parents were members of families, which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations as glassblowers and beadmakers.
