About the Item
Alquisiras lamps, made in this contemporary design, are born from the memory of ancient Mexican wood toys. This pieces remind us of those playful moments when we were kids. It reminds us of our traditional pirinolas (spinning tops), our grandparents playing with the balero.

AD HOC
Adhoc is established in Mexico City in march 2014, as a furniture and interior design studio. Founded by Juan José Nemer (left), industrial designer and Mauricio Álvarez (right), architect, both graduated from Universidad Iberoamericana. Interested on developing a fresh and innovative proposal, we create a dialogue between the use of technology and traditional techniques, to create contemporary, aesthetic and functional objects. We define ourselves as an object, space and furniture workshop, which aims to reach perfection in the details through design. Believing in material’s natural beauty, we dedicate to design spaces and create pieces, which reflect Mexico’s artisan legacy through our own approach, highlighting the nature of the material itself and manual processes in every product. Through transformation of daily materials into useful pieces, Adhoc rebuilds the meaning of everyday objects. This workshop recovers Mexico's craftsmanship's legacy with contemporary design processes.
