About the Item
This chandelier combines an understated crisply cast dark bronze body with wonderful quality two-tone gilding. Of classical inspiration, the theme is leafy, repeating borders of anthemions and palmettes: with the canopy, flambeau central flame and decorative banding all wonderfully gilt to the highest standard. The four pierced flat-link suspension chains are original and repeat the leafy motif.
It has been cleverly surface-wired very discreetly The photos will show better the tasteful way dark and gilt are so successfully combined. It is a matter of opinion how much is enough, this seems the perfect counterpoint.
