This fantastic Rococo-style chandelier features finely chiseled bronze d’ore. The piece was originally made for gas and uniquely sports horizontal fleur de lis key at the base of each cup to turn the flow of gas on and off. Dating back to the 19th century, the French antique piece offers bronze d’ore drippers, candle cups, and bobeches. This magnificent chandelier is suspended from a bronze d’ore floriate crown with a d’ore center adorned with outreaching acanthus leaves. Finally, the d’ore scroll arms themselves are acanthus leaves which curl into the d’ore candle cups. The piece is a store favorite, sitting above the desk of the owners, embodying the Rococo style with grace and style. Each piece in our shop is professionally rewired and in working order. Each chandelier comes with a vintage canopy, three feet of chain, and ample wire, and is newly wired with UL approved wire and sockets and is fully operable. Breathtaking & exceptional! This French Art Nouveau chandelier made out of solid brass & hammered brass done fully by hand. Originally made for candles and later in its life converted to electricity made in the 1890s at the start of the art nouveau period. This chandelier is one of a kind. You can look at it for hours and still discover new leaves and flowers. We have fully dismantled this chandelier and hand polished all 43 of its parts, the polishing took 35 hours. The chandelier has also been fully rewired before being rebuild. It is now back in its former glory & ready for years of use. It is quite large and most impressive from any angle. The amount of floral decorations, quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail is amazing. Each of its 8 arms is richly decorated with leaves, flowers & grapes. Made out of solid brass and then decorated with hammered brass parts.
