About the Item
A striking and extremely decorative Baltic 19th century Louis XVI st. crystal and ormolu chandelier. The eight arm chandelier is centered by a most elegant octagonal crown like bottom tier with lovely fitted cut crystals and beautiful prism shaped pendants suspended by supports. The central tier also displays an octagonal shape with beautiful curved designs with additionally fitted cut crystals and beautiful prism shaped pendants from where the elegantly curved arms branch out. The arms are adorned with richly chased acanthus leaves and lovely crystal pendants below fine foliate bobeches a spiral fluted candle cups. Most decorative curved supports lead upwards with an exceptional and unique tier suspended from charming chains connected to the striking top crown with an exquisite pierced design and fine rosettes. All original gilt throughout.
