About the Item
Hanging pendant light fixture by Studio Chora, Biomorphic Series. Hardwired. Current production and made-to-order. 3-4 week lead time. Biomorphic: ‘bios' meaning life and 'morphe' meaning form.

The Biomorphic Pendant is an organically shaped chandelier or pendant type light fixture that suspends from the ceiling. The fixture comes in an 8" to 22" diameter size. Each pendant is hand sculpted, please allow for slight variation in shape and size. The pendant is finished in a mineral gypsum plaster that naturally dries to a bright white colour. Contact if interested in a finish other than off-white limestone, finish samples are available. Each fixture has a standard screw in bulb, ready for a 110V E26 or G40 globe sized bulb. Lightly water resistant, for indoor use only. The shape is expressive of the human form.
Plaster ceiling plate and 5’-0” black cord with chain included. Medium-sized ceramic socket, ready for standard screw in bulb. Studio Chora can alter original suspended pendant design, contact seller/maker with dimensions, number of light sources, and other details to include in fixture design.
Studio Chora is a design studio founded in the New Mexican desert. By nature, desert people are resourceful, strategizing water management and utilizing the sun for energy. Studio Chora is a product of this environment and focuses on sustainable practices by using only non-toxic adhesives, recycled materials, and second-use shipping products. We advocate for consumer's right to repair. Our products favor repair instead of replacement, leading to a more sustainable economy and reduction in electronic waste.
Care instructions: Studio Chora's lime plaster products are compressed and burnished to a natural white finish. A wax may be applied to clean the surface and pull out natural color variation in the plaster.
About the designer:
E. Silva, M. Arch., of Studio Chora is a designer based in New Mexico. Trained as an architect, her work focuses on post-Deleuzian philosophy as a critical tool for articulating gender. She handcrafts one-of-a-kind sculptures, drawings, technical and artistic visuals, pneumatic dinner parties, and augmented reality experiences.

Studio Chora is a woman-owned design studio located in the desert of New Mexico. Producing hand-sculpted and one-of-a-kind designs from renewable and recycled materials, the product lines are sold in sustainably-focused shops and galleries throughout California, in Brooklyn, New York, and from our studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico. About the designer: E. Silva, M. Arch., of Studio Chora is a designer based in New Mexico. Trained as an architect, she has early career projects in Manhattan, including exterior lighting design for One Wall Street. Her designs for Studio Chora focus on post-Deleuzian philosophy as a critical tool for articulating gender. She handcrafts one-of-a-kind sculptures, drawings, technical and artistic visuals, pneumatic dinner parties, and augmented reality experiences.
