About the Item

This exceptionally rare five-arm chandelier was produced in Sweden in the 1950s and is attributed to Arvid Böhlmarks Lampfabrik. The design features a five-arm body made of solid brass. The curved arms have a reeded, textured brass structure with abstract leaf details at the ends. Ringed molding accents each arm and serves as a decorative element placed above and below the oval-shaped center of the body. A tubular brass stem and brass canopy complete the design. The pleated pink fabric shades, featuring braided trim details throughout, are a later addition. The lamp is in very good original condition. The brass has developed a natural patina, with minor wear consistent with age. The fabric shades are also in good condition. Designers working in the same Scandinavian Modern period include Paavo Tynell, Hans Bergström, Harald Notini, Josef Frank and others.
