Brass and Glass Five-Arm Chandelier Hungary, 1950

An elegant solid brass and milky glass five-arm chandelier in the manner of Paavo Tynell.

This striking chandelier was produced Sweden in the late 1950s. The fixture consists of a ceiling cup and central brass stem with the five brass arms attached to the lower centre. The distinct shades are made of a matte white opaline glass. The three-dimensional studded pattern of the glass gives the shades a beautiful and interesting texture, both when the lamp is turned on and off. Other noteworthy details include the brass finials and the middle part of the stem in black lacquered metal.
