Damien Langlois-Meurinne’s Roses des Sables is a piece of singular beauty. The chandelier is suspended from a dark bronze patinated brass drop, which, fading into the background, gives the eight alabaster petals the appearance of a rose floating on the water’s surface. Using the noble materials for which the artist and Pouenat are both known, this chandelier is the jewel of Langlois-Meurinne’s deeply personal collection, uniting poetry, freedom of form, and lightness.
