French 19th century Louis XV st. patinated Bronze and Ormolu chandelier

About the Item

A stunning and most decorative French 19th century Louis XV st. patinated Bronze and Ormolu chandelier. This exquisite twelve arm twenty four light chandelier is centered around an Ormolu berried foliate bottom finial. Above the bottom finial is a circular stepped socle shaped mount with a reeded Ormolu band. The mount holds the twelve 'S' and 'C' scrolled patinated Bronze arms, each of which having a central reserve of a foliate designed Ormolu candle cup with a berried finial below. The end of each arm displays a bust of a bearded man wearing a foliate decorated head piece which supports the acanthus leaf candle cup above. The patinated Bronze central fut is decorated with scrolling foliate movements and two Ormolu mountain goats climbing up toward the Ormolu acanthus leaf top crown. *Shades shown for display purposes, sold separately.
