About the Item

A stunning and most impressive French 19th century Louis XVI st. enameled Bronze and Ormolu Champlevé chandelier. This exquisite twelve light chandelier is centered by a topie shaped Ormolu and enameled Bronze bottom finial below a colorful spherical base. The sphere and topie shaped finals are located below a mottled circular Ormolu frame decorated with wonderfully colorful enameled Bronze designs. This beautiful frame introduces the twelve electrified arms that are tastefully decorated with scrolling pierced designs. Each arm is designed with Les Perles patterns and scrolling acorn finals hanging below. The twelve bobeches display garment like tassels around the edge while supporting the enameled Bronze candle cup above. Emerging from the top of the mottled Ormolu frame is the enameled Bronze central fut. This elaborately designed central fut contains a pair of beaded reserves as well as a pair of scrolling pierced movements with more colorful enameled Bronze throughout. The fut leads to the circular mottled edged Ormolu and enameled Bronze canopy above. This chandelier can be reduced in height by shortening the central support. *Shades, Canopies and Chain shown for display purposes, sold separately.
