French Art Deco alabaster pendant chandelier, France, 1915-1920. The alabaster here is of exceptional quality. It shows cells, ranging from light beige to dark brown, arranged over the entire surface. Old alabaster cannot be compared to new ones. Old alabaster has veins. Sometimes they can be mistaken for cracks. But they are not cracks, they are veins. Bronze (canopy and chains) and brass (hidden-holes) fixture. Height : 29.1"(74cm), Diameter : 15.9"(40.4cm).
