About the Item
Estate trust directs a sale .The gilt basket weave pendant with overflowing fruit at top and with four hanging garlands. Lights (two full size sockets )are within the basket shooting light upward and through four side portholes in the garlands. Probably Italian but possibly French. No obvious markings.
The fruit with very minor chipping and paint loss (visible in closeups provided). Needs an electrician to hardwire ( like most chandeliers ) to ceiling .
Gilt basket and four garlands with losses to gilding, bleeding of the red bole basecoat, dirt and grime. A very rich antique patina.
