About the Item

Truly special and skillfully made, Spanish Gothic art wrought iron pendant. This artistically designed and outstandingly executed wrought iron and hand-hammered iron dragon chandelier is in excellent condition. This possibly unique light fixture (we have never seen anything like it) comes with as many as 6 mint dragon sculptures. The three iron dragons towards the top of this chandelier are flat and placed in oval medallons. The three dragon sculptures that are integrated in the 'base' of this grand fixture were even more difficult to create, because they are curved inward to fit the unique design of the base of the incredible chandelier (as shown in images 13, 16 and 18). Besides the dragons, there are ofcourse many more Medieval elements and symbols (such as the wrought iron rose) that make this such an amazing and intricate antique. In the earliest years of the 1900s it must have taken a highly skilled and experienced blacksmith an incredible amount of time to first design on paper and then hand forge and put together all the individual pieces that make up this antique, Gothic Revival, European work of lighting art. This beautiful, six light chandelier can be yours to enjoy for years and years, because this work of art was made to last, for centuries. Where can you still find that nowadays?
