About the Item

A stunning and most decorative Italian 18th century Louis XVI period patinated green, Giltwood, and glass chandelier. This impressive six arm chandelier is centered by a circular Giltwood and patinated green bottom dome with scrolling acanthus leaf carvings throughout. Above, the dome is decorated by an urn of prosperity central reserve while being flanked by the six 'S' scrolled arms. Each patinated green 'S' scrolled arm is accented by Giltwood acanthus leaves and circular bobeches with beaded edges. All six arms are connected by swaging Glass garlands with tear drop cut Glass pendants hanging below each reserve. Each of said Glass garlands also lead upwards to connect to the finely carved top crown with is prism cut Glass pendant hanging below. This tastefully carved Giltwood top crown contains a patinated green background with Giltwood accents of dentil patterns, beaded bands, and a light acanthus leaf spray above. *Shades, Canopies and Chain shown for display purposes, sold separately.
