Exceptionally rare Italian 1950s tole chandelier with colorful pressed fruit decorations — a playful and poetic example of mid-century Florentine craftsmanship.
A stunning Italian hand-painted tole chandelier from the 1950s, richly decorated with colorful fruits and foliage in the Florentine tradition. This six-light piece combines the playful charm of mid-century Italian craftsmanship with the sophisticated spirit of Hollywood Regency interiors.
The frame, in beautifully aged dark green metal, is adorned with hand-applied fruits made from a lightweight pressed composite material, delicately painted in hues of apricot, yellow, rose, and green. The natural irregularities and subtle patina enhance its authenticity and decorative appeal.
A few small fruit elements are missing, consistent with age, yet the chandelier remains full, balanced, and wonderfully decorative. When illuminated, the fruits glow softly, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere reminiscent of the Tuscan countryside.
