Italian Balloon-Shaped Chandelier Pendant w/Clear & Amethyst Colored Crystals
About the Item
An Italian crystal and glass single-light chandelier from the mid-20th century. This vintage Italian chandelier features a clear and amethyst colored crystal and beaded glass decorated ballooned-shaped body, having a single light within its caged centre. The top is adorned with a two-tiered crystal waterfall crown, with petite flower shaped crystals aloft dangling crystals. Italian glass chain gently swags the upper crown, and is criss-crossed about the perimeter of the rounded lantern-shaped body. The bottom portion of the chandelier is decorated in the same fashion as the upper waterfalls, with floral shaped crystals and dropped amethyst crystals surround a larger purple amethyst ball finial at their centre. There is a small hinged door allowing access to the centre bulb (please refer to the additional images provided as we try to show an example of this feature). This light fixture has been rewired for the US and comes with a complimentary 3-foot chain and canopy painted to match. This finely beaded and crystal Italian balloon chandelier would be a most elegant light, perhaps adorning a foyer entry.
