- Carlo Nason Italy Murano White, Pink Chandelier, Pendant, LampBy Carlo NasonLocated in Valladolid, ESAmazing and Fantastic large chandelier-type lamp designed by Carlo Nason for the Venetian house Mazzega. It has a metal structure from which an infinity of white Murano glass discs hang with a salmon-colored circle, 26 cm in diameter. The Mazzega house was founded in the 40s as an artisan glass factory, evolving to become a benchmark in design and avant-garde. About Carlo Nason Italian designer Carlo Nason was born into a family of expert glassmakers in 1935 in Murano, Venice. His father, Vincenzo Nason, ran the renowned Nason Moretti glass company and opened a second glass company under the name Vincenzo Nason & C in 1941. From an early age, the young Nason was trained in the art of glassblowing, learning both the properties of the material and the craft techniques used in the molding and decoration of the glass. Nason's first designed objects date from 1959 and are included in a collection of mold-blown vases produced by V Nason & C. Today, they are in the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York. Driven by his passion for design, especially clean geometric shapes, Nason decided in the 1960s to distance himself from his family's business, which specialized primarily in highly traditional ornate decorative objects. Nason redirected his focus to glass lighting design in a modernist language. Nason intended to produce his first individual designs in small batches himself, but soon his spirit of experimentation and innovation caught the eye of Murano glass lighting manufacturer A.V. Mazzega, and the company invited Nason to collaborate on new collections. The partnership lasted from 1965 through the 1980s and resulted in a variety of iconic lighting designs that remain in demand today. Parallel to the collaboration with A. V. Mazzega, Nason also...Category

- Pietro Chiesa Mid-Century Italian Glass and Brass Chandelier by Fontana Arte 40sBy Fontana Arte, Pietro ChiesaLocated in Puglia, PugliaThis Mid-Century glass and brass chandelier was designed by Pietro Chiesa for Fontana Arte in the 1940s. The Italian Art Deco designer Pietro Chiesa was born in Milan in 1892 in a family of artists originally from Ticino, Switzerland. After his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, he completed an apprenticeship at the studio of the furniture designer Giovan Battista Giannotti; having gathered enough security and experience, Chiesa opened his studio in 1921 under the name Bottega di Pietro Chiesa. Known above all for his work as a glassmaker, Chiesa presented his work for the first time in 1925 at the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris. In 1932 his studio joined Fontana Arte, the legendary Italian manufacture of lighting and glass objects founded by Gio Ponti and Luigi Fontana. Chiesa becomes the company's artistic director, and over the years designs numerous models for Fontana Arte, including lamps, windows, tables, and artistic decorative objects. Among the most noteworthy pieces signed by the designer, we mention the Fontana table (1932), made in a single beam of molded clear glass, the Cartoccio vase (1932), and the Luminator lacquered brass floor lamp...Category
