About the Item

A beautiful and most elegant Italian early 19th century Neo-Classical st. giltwood and crystal chandelier. The eight arm nine light chandelier is centered by an outstanding fitted cut crystal dome with lovely reeded designs housing a single hanging light bulb emitting a beautiful glow and framed within a wonderful array of prism shaped cut crystal pendants. At the center is an elegant mottled wrap around giltwood band with richly carved foliate designs from where the elegantly scrolled Rinceau shaped arms branch out adorned with acanthus leaf carvings leading to foliate candle cups with additional prism shaped cut crystal pendants and mottled candle cups. Fine chains lead upwards to the striking top crown with beautiful palmettes and crystal pendants. All original gilt throughout. *Shades shown for display purposes only.
