About the Item

Monumental Italian antique chandelier, a 19th century gilt and crystal chandelier of Sicilian origin, a 36 lights, three-tiered repoussè and gilt brass leafted chandelier in good condition, ready to hang in your living room. This stunning antique chandelier comes from the hall of a noble Sicilian Palazzo in Palermo, Italy, Palazzo Brancato Fatta, a baroque architectural building built in 17th century in piazza Marina. After endless wanderings we have selected this elegant 19th century chandelier in a private Milanese palace. The baluster stem of this stunning 19th century thirtysix branch chandelier, fully hand-made for lighting candles, is adorned with gilded embossed brass vases surmounted with a crown made by six curved leaves bearing star crystal ornaments and pendants. The 36 lights are arranged in three orders, a pyramidal circular structure with 36 curved hand-made arms decorated with embossed and gilded brass acanthus leaf elements of Rocaille style. Original superlative fire gilding. This 19th century Sicilian masterpiece of art and light is richly adorned with cut crystal, fan-shaped, star-shaped pendants and combines Italian timeless elegance with the precious and scenographic effect of the decorative crystal elements. Due to the large scale and weight of 70 kg, the chandelier will be delivered with disassembled arms. This large antique chandelier showed signs of wear and oxidation and after a professional cleaning and a conservative restoration in our atelier it is now restored and rewired for a maximum power of 1,500 watts through two double-lines divided of 9 + 27 E14 light bulbs. The brass structure covered with glass candles is original. Some crystal bobeges are slightly different and might have been replaced.
