Jonas Hidle 'Soap Bubble' Ceiling Lamp in Smoke Glass & Brass, 1960s

About the Item

The Norwegian designer Jonas Hidle created this striking mushroom shaped pendant light. Among the Norwegian referred to as the 'Soap Bubble Lamp'. Its composed of a large hand blown brown/grey toned smoke glass shade that is set around a circular brass socket and held in place by 4 brass pins. This light was manufactured by Høvik Verk in Norway during the late 1960s and comes with its original canopy/ceiling cover. Similar designs were made by RAAK Amsterdam, Orrefors and Murano during the same era. Measurements: H: 30 cm, Diameter: 25 cm (Glass shade measurements).
