Large 1970s Brutalist Chandelier Mazzega Murano Brass and Glass

About the Item

An impressive, angular, large 1970s chandelier in the Brutalist style. Produced by Nucleo Forme (trans. 'Core Forms'), an Italian lighting company we are sure to hear more about in the coming years. We think they may have been a manufacturer of chandelier frames for Mazzega, but more research is needed. Comprised of six plates of Amber and Clear slump Rugiodoso (dewdrop technique) glass on a cleverly designed angular frame, carrying six small Edison bulb fixtures. The glass has the style and quality expected of Mazzega. This is a bracing, bare-knuckle celebration of materials and forms in 1970s Brutalist style. The finish in brushed brass has a softening effect, so that the form is muscular and bold but the finish is elegant and comfortable. It's simply magnificent. This chandelier comes with one spare glass. A NOTE ON WIRING: This item is rewired to Australian/NZ Standard and has been tested and tagged safe for a nominal 230v system (supply of anywhere from 210-240v). Australian and New Zealand buyers must consult a registered electrician for installation or safety tag will be void. This light is compatible with European 220v electrical systems but wire colours may differ and correct bulbs may or may not be readily available. Please check with your bulb supplier before purchase - many are available online. Consult your electrician for installation or to change bulb sockets (or for plug change if this item is a lamp). In the US and anywhere a 110v system is in place - this light may or may not require rewiring to meet your local safety standards and correct bulbs may or may not be readily available. Please use the information provided to seek advice on compatibility from your registered electrician before purchase. They will be able to advise on the potential need for rewiring, bulb socket changes, or if this item is a lamp, for plug change. Before purchase, please check with your bulb supplier - many are available online. Use of LED bulbs is recommended (to prevent overheating and reduce power usage).
