Large Cascading 12 Light Mid Century Chandelier with Colored Glass Bell Shades
About the Item
Impressive Mid Century chandelier, having hanging glass globes, suspended from a large ceiling canopy ( 18 in. dia. ). The fixture has 12 glass bell shaped shades, each of a different color, and each different in length of drop. The shades hang from a wire, which is knotted inside the canopy, so you can easily just the drop of each shade according to your aesthetic criteria - see image of back of ceiling plate. The chandelier has been newly professionally rewired, the wire has all been replaced with cloth covered twisted cord. The chandelier accepts standard screw in bulbs, it is in good, clean, working condition, wired for US application - ready to install.
We believe the chandelier was made in the USA, in the Swedish style, it is vintage Mid Century ( 1950/1960's ), probably by Lightolier, it is unsigned. The metal ceiling plate is currently in later, but not new, brass paint finish, which shows some scuffing and wear ( please see images ). This is easy to remedy with spray paint etc, if it bothers you, but we will leave that up to the buyer.
