Stunning Art Deco hand carved and layered multi-colored alabaster shade, 5 light chandelier.
Thanks to its timeless design, aesthetic beauty, large size and superb condition this antique alabaster chandelier is bound to light up both your days and evenings, both in summer and winter time. It is all hand-crafted in the earliest years of the 1900s and because it is hand carved out of one solid rock of alabaster, it must have taken the artisan(s) at least several days to first design this work of beauty on paper and then hand carve it to perfection. As you can see in our images, the final product of their artisanship is an absolute joy to look at and you will immediately realize that they don't make 'em like this anymore. The combination of the design and the natural veins and patches in a variety of colors make this light look truly amazing. These veins and patches that have formed in this mineral stone over thousands of years make it even more special and it is the kind of beauty that cannot be captured in a photo. For it to still be in this good condition after 100+ years is like an ode to the craftsmanship of early 20th century artisans. So we could shoot many more photos, but you still would not be able to see the true beauty of this shade. In real life (or in person) our antiques always have that little bit extra and this stunning pendant is no exception. Our regular clients (designer and private ones) have learned to take our word for it. Both with the light on and off its aesthetic beauty will never go unnoticed.
