A beautifully detailed Italian chandelier in gilt tole, designed as a wheat sheaf bound at the center. With eight candle lights surrounded by gracefully curved leaves and gilded wheat stems, this piece captures the warmth and artistry of Italian craftsmanship from the 1970s.

Entirely made in hand-gilded wrought iron, it features eight candle lights arranged around a lush composition of curved leaves and wheat stems, tied at the center like a sculptural bouquet. The gilding shows a beautiful aged patina, adding depth, warmth, and authentic vintage character.
Its style recalls the celebrated Florentine ateliers such as Banci Firenze and Maison Baguès, known for their refined gilt-metal lighting inspired by nature. Gilt 1940s sheaf of wheat Hollywood Regency pendant chandelier by Hans Kögl fully restored from top to bottom by UL Certified Professionals. This particular Hans Kögl chandelier was originally brought to the US by a World War II American GI when returning from his deployment in Germany after the war and then hung in his home up until recently. In terms of look, a beautiful example of the Hollywood Regency style. Upscale. Elegant. Regal. Old money look. This chandelier's finish is known as Bole Gilding, a technique that began about eight thousand years ago in Europe and Asia. Bole - a specific type of colored clay - is applied first and then gold leaf is applied over it creating unique highlights of color with red being by far the most popular. Red undertones are thus purposeful and make each fixture one of a kind. A most beautiful acquisition for a discerning collector or aficionado of finer things.
