About the Item

Handblown by Lino Tagliapietra himself in 1972 while head creative director for the La Murina glass manufacturers. In fact, this chandelier was made for La Murinta's first showroom in Milan in the 1970s. The chandelier is 39 inches (99 cm) in diameter and 86 inches (218 cm) tall. Photos show the chandelier in the original location uncleaned and dusty prior to taking apart and storing. Glass is clear with a blue and green glass spiral in the middle of each bottom donut shape. All hand blown by Lino Tagliapietra. It is a very large and rare piece. Over 40 tubular pieces ranging from 18" to 48" long. The chandelier mounts directly to the ceiling. It has three interior canister spot lights to illuminate the glass pendants. The chandelier style is documented in a smaller version in Taschen's "1970s Decorative Art" book by Charlotte & Peter Fiell. See image number 5. Chandelier is stored in Rome, Italy.
