About the Item
A beautiful Lisa Johansson-Papé ceiling lamp model 1088 by Orno. This lamp is one of the models that Lisa Johansson-Papé started working on when she arrived at Orno. The model was started by Gunilla Jung back in the 1930s and after her premature death in 1939, Orno hired Lisa Johansson-Papé as a lamp designer. She started working with this and other models by designing rattan, fabric and plastic shades instead of the metal ones used earlier, largely driven by the shortage of metals byring the war.
The lamp is in original condition except for the reupholstered rattan shade as they rarely if ever come intact. The wirings are original and the lamp is stamped.
The combination of rattan and opal glass gives a soft natural vibe adding eco-friendly tones to any interior.
