About the Item
A sleek and elegant Dutch vintage pendant light dating back to the 1950s. This piece was designed by Louis Christiaan Kalff (1897-1976) for Philips in the Netherlands. The lamp features a circular satinized opaline glass lampshade topped with a stylish teak wood cone, suspended from a newly refurbished black fabric cord/textile wire. The lamp stands at a height of 12 inches without the cord, while the cord itself measures approximately 70 inches in length and can be easily adjusted to suit your preferences.
Louis Kalff was a prominent Dutch industrial designer of the 20th century, renowned for his innovative lamp designs at Philips, where he served as the chief designer. His works were characterized by clean lines, innovative materials, and functional aesthetics. Among his most notable designs are the "Philinea" and "Z" series. Kalff's influence on modern industrial design is enduring, and his works remain coveted collector's items.
