The Nics brothers realized in 1923 with the architects Léon Azema, Max Edrei (of Egyptian origin) and Jacques Hardy the monumental entrance door and the gates of the chapel of the ossuary of Douaumont. These three architects then won the first prize in the competition for the Palace of Justice in Cairo in 1924, which they built.
Michel (1870-1950) and Jules (1885-1963) Nics continued to work with these three architects and executed for them in 1926 the ironwork of the private mansion of the judge Nahas bey at 5, Ahmed-Pacha street, in Garden City. The street gate and the entrance gate have the same motif of leaping gazelles. The Nics brothers would also have decorated the interior with ironwork. The mansion is now the residence of the Japanese ambassador.
They would also have executed the ironwork of the Rabbath building (1931), at the corner of Cherif and 26-Juillet streets, the work of the architects Azema, Edrei and Hardy, whose composition of the facades is inspired by the building they realized in Paris at 91-93, quai d'Orsay. It also seems possible that the Nics brothers created the chandeliers for the Groppi pastry shop in Cairo in the late 1920s.
