Original Leleu silvered bronze 4 arm chandelier w/ frosted art glass tulips
About the Item
A sophisticated and understated silvered bronze chandelier by the renowned ateliers of Petitot and Georges Leleu, France @ 1930.
Petitot produced precious fixtures in high quality heavy bronze with shades from the best French glass manufacturers such as Sabino, Leleu, Schneider, Degue and Muller Freres and others.
This elegant fixture showcases a fluted stepped central stem that gracefully supports four curvilinear arms. Each arm terminates with a fluted bobeche, cradling a frosted art glass tulip cup. The meticulously machined design extends to the matching fluted canopy and is adorned at the tip with a finial featuring a cabochon of seeds. Symbolic of a lily of the valley, the glass tulips exhibit thin, linear blade-like geometric forms and small stylized bell-type flowers.
The intricate accents contribute to an atmosphere of tailored refinement bestowing the pendant with a sense of bygone-era craftsmanship and refined sophistication.
Leleu & Robillard was established at the turn of the century on rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine in Paris. This partnership persisted until after the First World War, when Robillard departed. The firm then carried on under the name Etablissement Georges Leleu until its closure in the late 1930s.
Overall, this chandelier would be a beautiful and unique addition to any type of room and in any room setting, ex: Modern, Transitional, English, Traditional, French, Biedermeier, Minimalist, Italian design, Industrial and can be used as in any space, foyer, entry, hallway, bedroom, dining room, study, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, ...

Large Opalescent, Frosted Art Glass, Six-Arm Chandelier Signed Ezan
By Ezan
Located in New York City, NY
A very special opalescent, molded art glass chandelier with all glass stem and canopy signed Ezan, circa 1935. The armature is completely encased so that undulating glass forms with dotted block patterns convey an organic impression. A minimum of exposed mounting clips in silver plate bronze creates an even further, all glass illusion. The opalescent nature of the glass gives the hint of slight color. It is a chameleon to match any neighboring decor and can appear to have slightly shaded tints of blue, or pink, or yellow, or purple depending on sunlight and surrounding. Unfortunately the photos do not replicate the true nature, color and feeling of the luminous art...
