About the Item
This early Tynell ceiling lamp is quite an exquisite example of how luxurious and elegant Taito lamps were, most likely from the 1930s before Tynell became a household name through his more modernistic designs.
The high quality design is quite evident as Tynell paid astonishing attention to small details as can be seen in this lamp. Tynell hired a very highly skilled work force only in his Taito company, people specialized in the metals hands and crafts skills and were supervised by him, a master craftsman who even taught this art at the applied arts school in Helsinki. That made it very difficult for competitors to copy his superior designs and quality.
This lamp we acquired from a private residence in Finland where there were other commissioned Tynell lamps.
The lamp is stamped Taito, please refer to pictures. We also have 2 different shade options for this lamp, the original lighter ones with parchment and string harmoniously emphasizing the classic almost empire style, and the rattan version to compliment that style with a modernistic natural twist for a modernistic interior. Rattan shades made with the same measurements as the originals.
