About the Item

The two dark patinated bronze chandeliers are 17th-century Dutch-style copies made in the second half of the 19th century. The tendency to create works inspired by this period can undoubtedly be traced to its historical relevance: the Dutch Golden Age corresponds to the 17th century, a period during which Dutch commerce, science, and the arts were among the most acclaimed in Europe and the Western world. Authentic chandeliers made in that era are very rare and can therefore be found only at rather high prices. As reproductions, the chandeliers presented here can be purchased at an affordable price while preserving the charm of decorations in that style. These lighting instruments would fit very well in a room decorated with antique furniture and objects.
