Pair of Exquisite and Elegant vintage Hivo Van Teal matching green lucite with brass fittings
This minimalist design is a departure from Van
Teal’s signature maximalist ornate, lighting fixtures.
The pair is MUCH MORE spectacular in person than photos can capture
This set would enhance a library or study, kitchen, office or formal dining room
The emerald to forest green lucite combined with the brass fittings create a very high-end, warm, and richly appointed lighting source
The pendant are hard wired. The canopies are circular shiny brass. The pendants hang from a length of brass chain which attaches to a lucite and brass body.
The length of the drop can be customized to your situation by adding/reducing the existing chain. You can also replace the chain with modern white coated wiring
The 3 light bulbs per pendant, screw into the lightbulb receptacles, hidden inside the conical white opaque glass bottom.
The piece is finished with bass end caps that fit over the glass diffuser. The pieces are held together by a brass ball that screws in at the very tips.
The recommended wattage is up to 100w per bulb. Likely these are incandescent lightbulbs please check with an electrician. Incandescent lightbulbs must be paired with an incandescent dimmer.
If you prefer incandescent lightbulbs which are difficult to find, you can use soft white 40watt appliance bulbs, giving each fixture a total of 120w

Hivo Van Teal
After fleeing Havana as a young man, Hivo Van Teal was able to unleash his artistic sensibilities and launch an award-winning lighting and accessories company. Creating sculpture shapes in acrylic soon became a passion. “In 1974, I opened a 600-square-foot studio close to my house in Miami Beach," Hivo recalls. "Together with Estela, I made my first sculptures named 'Family,' 'Atlanta,' and 'Prism.' A friend of mine who was a furniture representative saw them and exhibited them at a show in Miami Beach. Euster Furniture was one of the most exclusive high-end showrooms in Miami, and Mr. Euster was very impressed with my sculptures and gave us a $10,000 order. And that was the beginning of Van Teal, Inc.”
Soon, art galleries in Florida and retailers such as Saks Fifth Avenue in Bal Harbour, and I. Magnin in Washington, D.C., began selling Van Teal sculptures. In 1976, Van Teal, Inc. opened its first showroom at the High Point Market in North Carolina. Van Teal has been singled-out for excellence by winning First Prize for Contemporary Sculptures from ACCA (1986, 1987, 1989, 1990 and 1992) and received two ARTS Awards (1995 and 1996).
