About the Item

Pietro Chiesa for Arteluce absolutely rare Italian early 1950s eightfold branched chandelier artfully made of solid brass partly lacquered in dark Venetian Red all original from A to Z height: can be customized from 85cm to 115cm ~ width: 62 cm ~ depth: 62 cm E14 socket works both with 220V and 110V ...I´ve never have seen any similar chandelier before ! Pietro Chiesa Milano 1892 - Paris 1948 Pietro Chiesa served an apprenticeship in the studio of the furniture designer and interior decorator Giovan Battista Gianotti in Milan. In 1921 Pietro Chiesa opened Botega di Pietro Chiesa in Milan. In 1925 Pietro Chiesa showed work at the "Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes" in Paris. In 1927 Pietro Chiesa joined Gio Ponti, Michele Marelli, Tomaso Buzzi, Emilio Lancia, and Paolo Venini to found Il Labirinto, which made high-quality furnishings in the Novecento style. Pietro Chiesa concentrated mainly on designing glass. In 1933 Pietro Chiesa became artistic director of Fontana Arte, the firm founded by Gio Ponti and Luigi Fontana. Fontana Arte started out concentrating on furniture and glass but later became known for lighting. Pietro Chiesa treated glass like a valuable material, fragmenting pieces of it and using special cutting techniques. At the same time Pietro Chiesa created pure forms such as the 1932 glass table, made of a single bent band of clear glass. In 1933 Pietro Chiesa designed "Luminator", an elegant, flute-shaped floor lamp of lacquered brass tubing, which provided indirect light. Pietro Chiesa was a leading exponent of Italian Art déco. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ quite useful information for US customers regarding the bulbs: Having sold chandeliers to the US on several occasions I´m familiar with this issue: The best solution nowadays is to use LED e14 110v bulbs which are available at very reasonable prices (available on amazon USA) like: " Lamsky E14 LED Bulb Dimmable,110V 400LM 40w Equivalent Warm White 3000K,E14 European Base Candelabra LED Bulbs,C35 Clear Glass Torpedo Shape Bullet Top (12-Pack) ". Those are even dimmable! (anyway a dimmable LED bulb by my experience always lasts much longer than a non dimmable LED - no matter which socket.).
