Rare Large Verdigris Bronze Birdbath Hanging Chandelier SIGNED

About the Item

Outstanding verdigris bronze bird bath chandelier by famed Israeli designer, Ilana Goor B. 1936). A monumental three level light fixture, whereas the arms connect and can be shortened for whatever design space you have. This is signed on bronze label attached to the lamp and adorned by little birds and petals - frosted glass diffuser at bottom with 3 light bulbs. Her works in bronze are reminiscent of Giacometti. NOTE: each arm measures 28 inches - nine arms shown here. THIS ITEM IS LOCATED AND WILL SHIP FROM OUR EAST HAMPTON, NY SHOWROOM. From the LA Times in 1989: "Says Goor: 'My pieces look organic, as if they’re growing. Everything is a little asymmetrical.' She embellishes her pieces with spookily realistic bronze birds, frogs, snails, turtles, rabbits, pigeons, eagles, cats and dogs. They mimic the creatures who would congregate on her terrace in the morning. As the sun rose in the sky and the day grew hotter, the animals would leave to seek shade. Missing them, she sculpted substitutes." MM
