This exceptional pendant light was designed by Temde Leuchten, one of Germany's leading mid-century lighting manufacturers, known for their refined use of natural materials and masterful craftsmanship. Produced in the 1960s, this piece exemplifies Temde’s signature style — a blend of Scandinavian-inspired minimalism and warm, organic textures.
This rare pendant light features a sculptural wooden frame in warm-toned veneer, seamlessly supporting a wide conical shade wrapped in natural woven cord. The combination of clean architectural lines and tactile materials creates a soft, diffused glow, ideal for creating warmth and atmosphere. Complete with its original wooden canopy and cream fabric cord, this piece embodies timeless mid-century design with a serene, organic presence.
Pairs beautifully with mid-century, Scandinavian, Japandi, or organic modern interiors. Works perfectly above a dining table, in an entryway, or even in a serene bedroom setting.
The fixture is in a good vintage condition overall. Light age-related patina on the shade and minor superficial marks consistent with the material. One faint, non-structural surface hairline on the lower diffuser (see photo) — does not affect stability or visual appeal. Fully operational and tested for safety.
