Rare design and good size, handcrafted pendant light / hallway lantern. With early 20th century lighting as one of our specialities, we are always thrilled when we find a pendant, lantern or chandelier that we have never seen before. This Arts & Crafts 'star gazer' lantern is another one of those beautifully hand-crafted and very stylish ceiling lamps that we have become known for at home and abroad. Over the decades this striking design has been copied and is still being copied today, but this original, early twentieth century specimen with its perfect patina is unlike anything you can find out there. The rarity, the design and the patina are superb, but to have found this antique specimen with all 60 glass panels (!) still intact is what really amazes us. In image 20 you can see how one of the twelve pointy elements hinges so that one can replace the bulb when it is time to. Can you imagine the time and skill it must have took to put all these brass and glass pieces together to create this geometrical work of lighting art? With the light switched on this striking pendant also throws the most amazing patterns on your ceiling and walls. The beautiful patina of the brass frame combined with the multiple and clean transparent glass panels makes this Arts & Crafts light fixture an absolute joy to own and to look at. This pendant will arrive rewired to the highest standard for safe and immediate usage (in the USA as well) and thanks to the chain it can easily be adjusted to a height that is ideal for you. Thanks to the metal hook inside the height adjustable, replacement brass canopy, safely mounting this light tight to your ceiling (and over your junction box) can be done in just a few minutes.
