Restored Large White, Amber & Black Alabaster Pendant w. Black Brass Canopy 1915

About the Item

Antique, large size alabaster chandelier with amber colored patches. One of the qualities of alabaster pendants is that no two shades will ever be exactly the same. Mother nature created this mineral stone over the course of many centuries and the craftsman who created these antique lights (between circa 1880 and 1930) would always try to use a rock / piece that would create the best possible patterns. This deep alabaster bowl shade has many amber colored patches and also some rare white 'dot-patches'. Since we often refer to the white alabaster as having a lunar-like quality, these amber colored patches are like the beautiful colored, thin clouds that you sometimes see at sunset. Especially with the light switched on, the unique colors and patches (combined with the striking black veins) will create just the right atmosphere in the space she is in. Thanks to the blackened metal chains we (or you) can also adjust the height to one that is perfect for you (we have more of this mint chain). This particular alabaster pendant is priced extremely sharp, because over the many decades several restaurations have been done to this glorious antique shade. The heat spot in the center of the old restored hairline cracks was colored in a similar color as the amber patches and the hairline cracks have been reinforced on the inside. The brass and bronze elements have been blackened in the exact same matt black as the replacement mint black chain and the height adjustable blackened brass canopy. Thanks to the hook inside this mint canopy, safely mounting this pendant tight to your ceiling and over your junction box should take no more than a few minutes. Finally, this antique light too is rewired to the highest standard for safe and immediate usage in the USA as well and it will easily take a 150 watt bulb. We know they also give this light great character, but because of the mentioned imperfections we have dropped the price significantly. This light therefor too is great value for money. Repaired: Some cracks have been restored and a 'heat spot' and some veins were also touched up/colored to better match the original colors in this pendant. Rewired: This light will arrive rewired to the highest standard for safe and immediate usage, no matter where you reside on our beautiful planet. Wear consistent with age and use.
