About the Item

This beautiful midcentury chandelier carries over 260 ripple rectangular hand poured elements. Made with the fracco technique. The same technique was used by Barovier and Toso for their deco chandeliers. Eight tiers to fence the 15 sockets without showing the hardware. The ripple effect on each element creates a great play with light. Carries one of the most difficult color that Murano glass makers were able to do, it's called fume, not because it resemble smoke but the technique is to reduce the air in the crucible, bringing reduction, to the smoking point. It's a sort of Raku reaction. For this reason the color comes in many shades of mezzetinta amber/mustard/gray colors and it's hard to keep the color the same for the whole production of the pieces. The light fume used is to avoid shading the light too much. This taupe gray bring warmth but not being too bright will work well with both a modern and a classic home. To be used on ballrooms, hotel halls or large living rooms. White lacquered hardware. Identifications, references: There are a few attributions online to Venini on this chandelier, I am keeping it as attributed to. White hardware in general goes not later than the 80s, when hardware became standard chrome. Evaluation assessment: By complexity of manufacturing and quality of both hardware and glass. The piece is evaluated by the beauty and not by the attribution which I believe is a bit generic. Chandelier will be complimentary wired over to buyer's code. UL certification by UL registered lab upon request. Measure listed is for the central body, carries 40 cms 16" of chain. Extra links to be included upon request. With short chaing cam become flush mount.
