Scandinavian Modern Glass and Brass Candelabra by Orrefors, 1940s

About the Item

This exquisite ceiling lamp, made by Orrefors in the 1940s and attributed to designer Fritz Kurz, showcases a beautiful blend of handblown, frosted, and textured glass elements. The bowl-shaped shade is adorned with raised clover-like motifs, giving it a refined yet decorative touch. Brass fittings provide a sleek contrast, featuring a central rod and elegant detailing. Rising from the top of the fixture are six twisted glass rods, each topped with intricate glass flowers inspired by Venetian craftsmanship. Notably, the height of the glass flowers is adjustable, allowing for versatility in their arrangement and adding a dynamic aspect to the design. This lamp exemplifies the luxurious craftsmanship and artistic elegance for which Orrefors is renowned, blending mid-century Scandinavian design with timeless sophistication.
