This new lighting collection is cast in optic crystal and inspired by A.M. radio waves and whirling motions of Sufi dancers. The dynamic between the inner and outer form encourages viewers to look both through and at the surface of the glass with its waves and striations of color. The pieces are made using an ancient glass casting technique called core casting. The color way of each suspended light is unique due to the nature of the movement of glass within the cast mould. Lit by a micro LED marker contained within the bronze mount the light sparkles through hundreds of tiny bubbles creating a glowing Ambience that is reflected from within by the delicate textures and waves of the core. When viewed together, each group of pendants creates a story of alchemy, texture, and energy that can harmonize with their setting whether it be austere or luxurious. Each piece is cast in the studio of Max Jacquard Glass on the Greensand Way in Kent, England. Max's experience in cast glass spans the length of 30 years and he is known for his innovative and tasteful approach to cast glass that is based in historical methods and contemporary practice. Organically design wrought iron and glass light fixture from the mid-century era. This fine quality workmanship pendant from mid-20th century is another one of our recent great finds. With 20th century lighting being one of our specialties we are always looking to find unique fixtures that we have never seen before. This all-handcrafted specimen from the 1960 perfectly fits that bill. The designer of this rare light must have been inspired by the flowing elements in nature when coming into contact with a round shape. The way in which the handforged wrought iron is 'flowing' around the glass sphere is exactly like water or perhaps the wind would 'behave'. It is this contrasting motion for a material as hard as wrought iron that makes this light extra special to own and look at. The equally stylish and crackled glass globe emphasizes the organic design of this unique fixture and it causes this pendant to radiate a warm light that is ideal for an entrance, a landing or a relaxing area in your living room. This series celebrates color and its uniqueness when combined with transparent materials like resin, and, in this case with bakelite - an early plastic developed in New York in 1907. Farm lamps built in the Sixties for heating newborn chicks in the coop are transformed into elegant and simple contemporary lighting. Made of Bakelite, the lamp is covered with colored resin and supported by a handcrafted wooden structure. The shape of the wooden frame is a hexagram and each side has a 30 degree angle.
