Set of Three Vistosi Bell Shape Pendants Lamp in Murano Glass and Brass

About the Item

Set of three bell shape ceiling lamps in yellow, white and grey by Carlo Nason 1950's are suspended on adjustable brass fittings. The yellow and grey glass is overlays on white glass to reflect equal light with all three lamps. Italian designer Carlo Nason is a glass artist known for his use of historical techniques in producing inventive lamps, vases, and sculptures. Born in 1935 in Murano, Italy, his family is one of the island oldest glass blowing families. From an early age, the younger Nason received training in the art of glassblowing, learning about both the properties of the material and the artisanal techniques used in glass moulding and decoration. Driven by his passion for design, especially clean and geometric forms, Nason focused toward designing glass lighting in a modernist and sculptural style. His spirit of experimentation and innovation caught the attention of Murano glass lighting manufacturer A. V. Mazzega, and the company invited Nason to collaborate on new collections. The partnership lasted from 1965 until the 1980s and resulted in an array of iconic lighting designs such as this pendant.
