About the Item

A Finnish design flush mount model 1241, manufactured by Valinte in Finland in the 1950s. Vintage ceiling lamps like this one were made by a few different companies in 1950s in Finland. Valinte, Itsu, Taito, Idman and Orno were some of the leading lighting manufacturers in mid-century Finland. This lamp is a prime example of Finnish mid century design, simple and functional yet elegant. Due to its plain look this lamp can easily blend into any number of interiors. The item is stamped by the manufacturer "Valinte". It is suitable for bedrooms or cooridors due to it´s small size. The item is in good condition, and the patina is true to it's age. It is amazingly in its completely original condition. Rarely does such a delicate lamp style remain in such good condition after being used for 70 years or so. The plastic raping has a somewhat heavy patina at certain spots. We chose to leave it at such for originality purposes. This model can be easily reupholstered if one so chooses. Note* this lamp is the smaller version of this model (we also have a few of the larger ones for sale on 1stDibs).
